Recently, we chatted with Ross Campbell, VP of DaySmart Vet, to get a closer look at his journey alongside DaySmart Vet since joining just after its inception.

Ross’s Journey at DaySmart Vet
Growing up with a father who was a test engineer, Ross was introduced to the world of computers from an early age, teaching himself to code while still in elementary school. He went on to study Biochemistry at UC Davis, then spending nearly two decades at Oracle, before combining his love for the life sciences and technology at DaySmart Vet.
Ross joined the company in 2014 when it only had a few customers. He played a key role in building a scalable, highly available infrastructure. Throughout the years, his contributions spanned across infrastructure, engineering, support, and business development. In the decade Ross has been with DaySmart Vet, the company has seen tremendous growth while adding additional features to support our expanding list of clients and adding many passionate, dedicated experts to our team. One of the standout moments he recalled was the acquisition by DaySmart. He truly appreciated how DaySmart stayed committed to practice management and maintained a strong customer-first approach, prioritizing and investing in customer feedback. This has allowed our Vet software to continue to grow and change to fit the needs of the industry.
Growth in the Veterinary Field
Working with veterinary practices has been an incredibly rewarding experience for Ross. The COVID lockdown was a pivotal period for veterinary practices and practice management software. With shelters empty and pet parents increasingly attentive to their pets, there was a significant shift from paper-based and on-premises systems to cloud-based solutions. The flexibility of cloud software proved invaluable, allowing practices to operate from any device, anywhere.
