From hiking to beach days, summer is packed with fun outdoor adventures. Here are a few to be aware of:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><div class=\"d-none d-lg-block\" style=\"height:15px\"><\/div><div class=\"d-lg-none\" style=\"height:7.5px\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-blue-green-algae-toxicity-nbsp\"><em>Blue-Green Algae Toxicity<\/em>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Found in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.petpoisonhelpline.com\/poison\/blue-green-algae\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stagnant or slow-moving freshwater<\/a> during warm months.&nbsp;<br><strong>Danger:<\/strong> Produces toxins that can be fatal if ingested.&nbsp;<br><strong>Symptoms:<\/strong> Vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, and collapse.&nbsp;<br><strong>Prevention:<\/strong> Avoid letting pets swim or drink from ponds with visible algae or scum. Also, be sure to monitor any warnings or announcements released by park officials or rangers,&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><div class=\"d-none d-lg-block\" style=\"height:15px\"><\/div><div class=\"d-lg-none\" style=\"height:7.5px\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-saltwater-ingestion-nbsp\"><em>Saltwater Ingestion<\/em>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Pets who drink saltwater while playing at the beach are at risk of <strong>salt poisoning<\/strong>.&nbsp;<br><strong>Symptoms:<\/strong> Vomiting, diarrhea, tremors, or seizures.&nbsp;<br><strong>Prevention:<\/strong> Provide fresh water, discourage drinking ocean water, and rinse off after swimming. If symptoms persist, seek veterinary care.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><div class=\"d-none d-lg-block\" style=\"height:15px\"><\/div><div class=\"d-lg-none\" style=\"height:7.5px\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-waterborne-illnesses-nbsp\"><em>Waterborne Illnesses<\/em>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Parasites like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vet.cornell.edu\/departments-centers-and-institutes\/cornell-wildlife-health-center\/programs\/leptospirosis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Leptospirosis<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/capcvet.org\/guidelines\/giardia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Giardia<\/a> are found in contaminated water.&nbsp;<br><strong>Symptoms:<\/strong> Vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and fever.&nbsp;<br><strong>Precautions:<\/strong> Avoid letting your pet drink from or swim in unknown water sources. Ask your vet about the Leptospirosis vaccine to help prevent serious illness if your pet is exposed.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><div class=\"d-none d-lg-block\" style=\"height:26px\"><\/div><div class=\"d-lg-none\" style=\"height:13px\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-6-sunburn-nbsp\">6.
